Jovan was born and raised in Surrey, British Columbia and joined Quay Law Centre in June 2017. Prior to attending law school, Jovan completed his Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and obtained a Certificate in Police Studies from Simon Fraser University. As a part of his degree, Jovan completed a field practice with Transit Police in New Westminster. This ultimately led him to pursue a career in law.
Jovan completed his Juris Doctor down under in Gold Coast, Australia at Bond University. Bond University provided a practical approach to education with their legal skills program. This allowed Jovan to participate in mediations, client interviews, hearings before a judge, and draft legal documents. The practical education received at Bond University has helped Jovan assist his clients with their legal needs.
As a junior lawyer, Jovan takes pride in preparing materials for and attending chambers both in the Provincial Court and Supreme Court of British Columbia. In addition, Jovan has assisted Mr. Tretiak in Professional Discipline matters and Court of Appeal matters.
When Jovan is not working, he enjoys playing sports, spending time with both his family and friends, travelling, and cooking. After earning two Provincial Championships playing minor football with North Surrey and North Delta minor football associations, Jovan has continued to play football in touch and flag leagues within the lower mainland.
